WATCH: Irish couple arrive at Sligo wedding reception in a dumper truck

Well, that's certainly one way to make an entrance...

Rory Cashin

None of the guests are likely to forget this in a hurry…

Every couple wants their special day to be unique, different, speak just to and about them, to be… well… special.

Sometimes it can be a funny dance they’ve been rehearsing for weeks, or sometimes it can the original speeches or vows they come up with, and sometimes they arrive at their own wedding in a massive dumper truck.

And that is exactly what happened here.

First posted by the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Sligo, with the accompanying note “Just when you think you’ve seen everything”… yep, that is a first on us, too.

To the obvious surprise of the guests, the bride and groom have to duck under the entrance on their way, then drive the dumper truck straight into the reception area, to the whopping crowds upon their arrival.

The wedding bunting on the side of the truck was an especially nice touch.

And fair play to the hotel for giving them the go ahead on driving the truck in in the first place, not to mention the luck involved that they had an entrance big enough to allow the truck in at all!
