We’ve found the greatest food ever invented and it’s called the Grilled Cheese Doughnut

It looks like something we could have invented ourselves in the throes of an epic hangover, but the latest food trend comes straight out of the Big Apple (home of everything over sized and outrageous).

Sweet and salty, crunchy and soft, cheesy and melty: behold: the doughnut grilled cheese.

All of you sad souls who missed out on the morning delivery, rest easy as we will be offering a new fresh batch after 3pm today and throughout the weekend!!!

The brainchild of the evil geniuses behind The Doughnut Project, an artisan doughnut store on Morton Street, NY, we can only hope that the doughnut grilled cheese oozes its way over here before the summer. It looks so good. A limited edition treat currently being served in small quantities at Clinton Hall, "The Flamin' Hot Doughnut Grilled Cheese" consists of the following: a habanero glazed bacon doughnut, halved and stuffed with mozzarella. The entire work of art is hung over a bowl of delicious tomato soup. Make no mistake: this is the stuff that dreams are made of.
