Lottery Culture Night

What a time to be alive.

Winning Streak fans will have a unique opportunity to get a look behind the scenes of National Lottery HQ as part of Culture Night tonight (21 September), as The National Lottery opens its doors to the public for one night and one night only.

Winning Streak hopefuls will get the chance to peek inside the Winner’s Room, where hundreds of dreams have been made over the last three decades, as it opens its doors from 6pm – 9pm.

To illustrate what a big deal this is, this is the place where more than €9 billion has been signed over to winners over the past 31 years and the place all National Lottery game players dream to be someday.

Visitors can take a stroll down memory lane in the form of an exhibition of Lottery memorabilia, including the original Lotto draw machine.

They will also get to see just how Lotto draws are run and may even get the chance to start up the famous Lotto drum. But only if they’re lucky.

A whole host of other Lottery exhibits will too be on display and guests will get the chance to spin the iconic Grand Prize Wheel from Winning Streak.

Guests who visit on the night will also get to meet RTÉ personalities associated with National Lottery games such as presenters Nuala Carey, Bláthnaid Tracey and Kamal Ibrahim, as well as Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy.

Visitors will also be able to get a sense of the contribution they make to Irish society they make by playing National Lottery games by getting a look at an exhibition featuring just some of the thousands of good causes that receive National Lottery funding every year.

Nearly 30c in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to good causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish language.

In total, more than €5.3 billion has been raised for good causes since the National Lottery was established 30 years ago. In 2017 alone, the National Lottery raised over €225 million for charity.

The event runs on Friday 21 September from 6pm – 9pm at National Lottery HQ, Lower Abbey Street, Dublin 1.
