Wood you believe it if you didn’t see it? Probably knot, but here is what a VW Beetle carved from wood looks like.

A Bosnian man took it upon himself to construct his own unique Volkswagen, made almost entirely from wood.

According to Oddity Central, Momir Bojic built the car back in 2005 and has been rightly showing off his pride and joy ever since. The car took 18 months to build and while it appears like a 1:1 scale replica of the Volkswagen iconic buggy, it is fully drivable.

Mr Bojic, who worked at a Volkswagen Transporter manufacturing plant in Hanover, spotted the 1975 Beetle for sale at a fair and got a metalwork company to take off the roof, doors and strip the chassis.

It has a full wooden body, wooden steering wheel, hub caps, dashboard and has become somewhat of an attraction on wheels in the Bosnian town of Banja Luka, near Momir Bojic’s hometown of Celinac and took 20,000 oak slats to complete.

Each tile involved a process involving no less than 23 separate procedures, including cutting, chamfering, bevelling, drilling and smoothing, before they could be applied to the vehicle.

Good to see a man branch out and think outside the box.
