You can order a pizza from Domino’s using emojis now

Because ordering over the phone is just way too difficult.

It’s not the case all the time, but on a lot of occasions people will order a pizza because they’re feeling lazy.

They’re too lazy to cook, too lazy to go to the shop and buy food and often too lazy to go the trouble of collecting the pizza and will get it delivered instead.

As if the process of ordering a pizza wasn’t easy enough, Domino’s have reduced the required effort even further, making it possible to order a pizza simply by tweeting a pizza slice emoji to the Domino’s Twitter account.

There’s no word yet of when the service wil become available in these parts, but Domino’s customers in the US will be able to avail of a tweet-to-order service from May 20 onwards.

Rather than having to tweet out exactly what they want on their pizza, frequent Domino’s users will be able to save their ‘easy order’ preference on their Domino’s profile online.

That preference will be tied to their Twitter account so Domino’s will know what the emoji slice means for each individual customer.

“It’s the epitome of convenience,” Domino’s CEO Patrick Doyle told USA today.

“We’ve got this down to a five-second exchange.”

The idea gets two thumbs-up emojis from us anyway; well played Domino’s.
