You’d need to be a maths genius to work out this ridiculous Wi-Fi password

This is really crafty.

If you’ve ever worked in a bar, cafe or restaurant, you’re probably used to countless customers asking you for the Wi-Fi password.

If you’re having a stressful day, or if you just don’t like the customer in question, it can get a little annoying.

One way around this is to display the password in plain sight, though that won’t always be enough to stop all the questions. After all, it turns out that some people don’t pay as much attention to their surroundings as others.

Another way is to do what this Thai restaurant in Texas did, as documented on Reddit by Joshua_Glock.

They’ve managed to kill two birds with one stone: they’ve likely stopped people asking for the password over and over, while they’ve also managed to hold on to that sweet, sweet internet.

Can you work it out? We’re guessing not, on the basis that no one can work it out.

There’s an entire Reddit thread devoted to the actual complex maths equation, with only occasional mentions of the delicious Thai food that those who visit the restaurant can enjoy with or without Wi-Fi.

One contributor, going by the moniker ‘hatessw’, had another theory:

‘I personally think it’s a red herring,’ they write.

‘I think it’s just a way to distract people from the fact that there isn’t any wi-fi available to people, in the hopes that those who want it just give up upon seeing any difficult-looking formula.’

If that is indeed the case, then hats off to YaYa’s Thai Restaurant. Well done folks, it worked on us.
