The nation's current severe weather is not yet over as motorists are warned to take caution today.

Met Eireann has warned of strong gales on the Irish Sea this morning and west to northwest gales at times along southern and western coasts.

Motorists are being advised to drive with caution following high winds and heavy rain last night.

East and northeast gales are expected to develop this evening and tonight on all coasts.

However, the stormy weather has not cause widespread flooding so far, as had been feared.
