2011 GAA Championship draws made

The draws for the 2011 provincial championships in both hurling and football have been made and have thrown up some interesting encounters.

In the Leinster hurling championship, Dublin will meet Offaly in the quarter-final, while in Munster, All-Ireland champions Tipperary will meet Cork in a repeat of this season’s quarter-final when the Rebels enjoyed a substantial victory over the Premier County.

In the football championship, there are some cracking ties down for decision in the Ulster quarter-finals, with All-Ireland finalists Down meeting Armagh and Tyrone facing Monaghan in a repeat of this year’s Ulster final.

In Connacht, traditional heavyweights Galway have a bye to the semi-final and will meet Mayo should James Horan’s charges overcome London in the quarters, while this season’s Connacht champions Roscommon will meet the side they defeated in the final, Sligo provided they can get over Leitrim and New York respectively.

In Munster, All-Ireland champions Cork have been pitted on the opposite side of the draw to Kerry, setting up a potentially mouth-watering Munster final between the close rivals.
