Gardaà have revealled that they are to interview the passengers onboard the plane on which shamed Cork 96fm DJ Neil Prendeville was caught masturbating.
The 49-year-old is reported to have committed the sex act on himself on a flight to Cork from London in front of shocked passengers just as the plane was taking off.
While the incident took place in full view of airline staff, they were unable to intervene until after the take-off and the pilot turned off the seatbelt light.
He has apologised to the passengers over the incident, blaming a mixture of Nurofen and alcohol. He is now on leave from his €150,000-a-year job.
He made a groveling apology live on radio during which he said he had no memory of the incident.
However, gardaà have said they want to interview both the outspoken DJ and up to a dozen of the passengers who were onboard at the time.
Gardaà have received a complaint from Aer Lingus over the incident which includes reports from the crew who witnessed the incident.
