The 10 toughest places in Ireland to pass your driving test

They take no sh*t in Carlow

Conor Heneghan

We have a lot of sympathy for Leinster drivers.

A little earlier today, we alerted you to the places in Ireland where it is easiest to pass your driving test, information based on the test centres with the highest pass rates in 2014.

The west was most certainly the place to go last year, with four of the five centres with the highest pass rates located in Connacht and the number one spot going to Ennis a little further south.

There certainly appears to some geographical bias when it comes to how easy it is to pass your test because nine of the ten centres with the lowest pass rates are located in Leinster, the exception being Nenagh in Tipperary.

The difference between the centres with the highest pass rate (Ennis – 69.53%) and the lowest pass rate (Carlow – 42.79%) is startling, while it wasn’t too easy to pass a test in Dublin in 2014, with four of the centres with the lowest pass rates located in the capital.

You can check out the pass rate for each individual centre on the RSA website here, but it might be worth bearing in mind if you happen to be booking a test of your own anytime soon.
