VIDEO: This footage of cars unable to deal with an old, badly-signed junction in Rosslare will crack you up

Thankfully, the temporary blockade has since been removed.

Back in 2008, a piece of footage from Rosslare Harbour, titled Terminal Communication, was one of ten works commissioned as part of Wexford County Council’s Per Cent for Art programme.

Filmed from a vantage point overlooking a badly-signed junction entering the port at Rosslare Harbour, it captured the struggles that faced motorists approaching the junction and the chaos that locals say happened on a daily basis.

The footage has been doing the rounds online for a few years, but at the request of a few locals, the man who recorded and produced the footage, Michael Fortune, uploaded it to his Facebook page yesterday.

We freely admit to having never seen it before and, although it can’t have been the safest junction in the world, we couldn’t help but have a giggle at the sheer mayhem captured in the clip above.

On his Facebook post, Michael wrote: “Apparently this had being going on for years. One man told me, that he’d go down most evenings during the summer, to observe the craic with the cars as they rushed to get onto the ferry.

“Aside from the cars going arseways, the man stopping to have a wee before he hit the queue for the ferry is 100% real. I spent 3 hours recording this and once I stuck Valerio’s soundtrack underneath it that evening, I knew it was a winner.”

You weren’t wrong Michael, you weren’t wrong.
