Divine intervention is something that people choose or choose not to believe in, but sometimes the evidence in its favour is nigh on impossible to ignore.
It was either that, or outrageous good fortune that led to a miraculous escape from death for one small pooch during the Codasur 2016 Rally in Santa Cruz in Bolivia over the weekend.
Footage at one corner at the rally showed a small dog wandering out onto the track just as Uruguayan driver Fernando Zuasnabar was about to round the corner at high speed.
Just before a collision that looked stomach-churningly inevitable, Zuasnabar’s car hit a bump in the road and flew right over the fleeing dog, who looked blissfully unaware of how close it came to death.
Seriously, how close was this?
