The 10 must-watch new (and old) arrivals on Disney+ this October

Rory Cashin

Disney are adding some great content throughout October, both for families and just for the grown ups…

Disney+ has been all about the announcements lately, from their full kiddie-friendly line-up arriving for Halloween, to a host of new premieres dropping for Disney+ Day in a few weeks time.

And now here are our picks of the ten best new and classic shows and movies that will be available on their streaming service throughout the month of October, starting with…

The Rocky Horror Picture Show – 1 October

One of the most iconic cult classics of all time, telling the story of a newly-engaged couple (Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick) who finds themselves seeking shelter at the bizarre residence of Dr. Frank-n-Furter (a legendary performance by Tim Curry).

Black Widow – 6 October

Scar-Jo finally got the big screen outing she deserved this summer, and already the huge blockbuster will be available for Disney+ subscribers this month! We chatted to one of the movie’s stars David Harbour (who plays Black Widow’s estranged father in the movie), and you can check out that interview in full right here:

What We Do In The Shadows – 6 October

Seasons one and two of the much-loved TV adaptation of the equally-loved movie lands on Disney+ this month, telling the story of a group of vampires living together in the modern day, forced to deal with modern day issues in a way that only vampires who are many, MANY centuries old know how.

Muppets Haunted Mansion – 8 October

A very impressive live-action cast (Will Arnett, Taraji P. Henson, Ed Asner, Danny Trejo, Darren Criss, John Stamos, Craig Robinson and loads more) will cross paths with Gonzo, as he is challenged to spend Halloween night inside the infamous Haunted Mansion.

Logan – 8 October

Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine puts him in the not-too-distant future, paired with an old-age Professor X (Patrick Stewart), in a world where most of the mutants have been killed off. Still one of the very best comic book movies ever made.

Reservation Dogs – 13 October

Taika Waititi’s other new comedy arrival this month (yes, he also had a hand in What We Do In The Shadows) centres around four Native American teenagers growing up on a reservation in eastern Oklahoma. The show has received some incredible reviews since it launched in the States earlier this year.

What Lies Beneath – 15 October

Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford star in this overlooked horror, about a couple who begin to suspect their lakeside home has suddenly become haunted by the ghost of a woman that seems a little familiar to them both…

American Horror Story: Double Feature – 20 October

This latest series will be split into two halves, with each section taking place in a different setting. The always impressive AHS cast list is even bigger this time around, including Frances Conroy, Billie Lourd, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, Neal McDonough and Macauley Culkin.

The Hills Have Eyes – 22 October

Not what anyone might call a “fun” horror, but definitely one that will stick with you afterwards. A family heading on a roadtrip across America find themselves lost in the middle of the desert, and the locals are far less friendly than you might hope.

Ready Or Not – 29 October

Samara Weaving visits her brand new in-laws on the weekend of her wedding, but she discovers that her new family play some vicious, violent games as a way to integrate new arrivals.
