These will leave you feeling merry.

Christmas is only a few days away and while everyone is running around like a blue arsed fly calmly buying their last few bits n’ bobs, there should always be time for some festive cheer.

Here’s our list of memorable TV Christmas moments.

Scrubs – My Own Personal Jesus

Christmas craic: Turk seems to be the only one that’s in the Christmas spirit but his festive fun is slowly turning into a nightmare after an eventful night on call. Meanwhile, Dr. Cox gets J.D. to record the birth of a friends baby, but once again, nothing seems to go right.

God bless us, every one: It’s a lovely reminder that even in the darkest of times, hope springs eternal.

Festive fun: J.D’s version of childbirth.

The Simpsons – Marge Be Not Proud

Christmas craic: Bart is caught attempting to shoplift the best game ever, Bonestorm. He tries to keep his failed “four-finger discount” a secret from Homer and Marge but unfortunately, Marge finds out and is embarrassed when  the family returns to the same store to get their Christmas photo taken/

God bless us, every one: It’s a timely reminder that The Simpsons has the wonderful ability to pull at your heartstrings because despite all of Bart’s trouble-making, he’s a decent kid underneath.

Festive fun: It’s either Thrillhouse, Homer’s lecture on the morals of Police Academy or this memorable moment…

Frasier – Merry Christmas, Mrs. Moskowitz

Christmas craic: While shopping for Christmas gifts, Frasier meets a very pretty Jewish woman who asks him to take her daughter Faye on a blind date. The two start dating for a while, but when Faye drops into Frasier’s apartment on Christmas Eve, all hell breaks loose.

God bless us, every one: Take your pick, Eddie dressed as Santa Claus, the Christmas tree arriving at the door or this hilarious moment below.

Festive fun: One of the funniest episodes of TV that you’ll see.

Christmas TV specials

Arrested Development – Afternoon Delight

Christmas craic: Buster looks for ways to get out the army while Lindsay’s quest to score a date at the Bluth Company Christmas party backfires following GOB’s iconic sexual harassment speech. Anchorman fans will also appreciate the arc that sees Michael and Maeby get in trouble for singing Afternoon Delight.

God bless us, every one: It’s a timely reminder that no matter how messed up your own family is, they’ll never be as bad as the Bluths.

Festive fun: This speech from GOB.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – A Very Sunny Christmas

Christmas craic: After years of being mentally tortured by Frank during the holiday season, Dennis and Dee decide to teach him a lesson by contacting his old business partner for help. Meanwhile, Mac and Charlie reflect on their childhood Christmases, and realise that they were not as joyous and wonderful as they remembered.

God bless us, every one: Christmas might not live up to your expectations, but it’s easily better than this.

Festive fun: Charlie attacking Santa would be the obvious clip but I always loved Frank’s reaction after seeing the ghost of Christmas future.

The Office Christmas Specials

Christmas craic: Gareth is now in charge of the office but Brent has been busy. He’s now a sales rep for a cleaning products company, released his own pop single and has acquired an agent to look after his celebrity appearances.

Still though, he keeps dropping in to his old workplace while Tim’s excited for the the imminent return of Dawn from Florida.

God bless us, every one: The office romance is alive and well. Sometimes, the good people do win.

Festive fun: This and always this.

South Park – Hr Hankey, the Christmas Poo

Christmas craic:  Kyle feels excluded from the town’s celebrations during Christmas, and is comforted by Mr. Hankey, a talking and singing piece of s**t. In typical South Park fashion, the rest of the townspeople are all going crazy because all the religious aspects of Christmas from the school play have been removed to remain politically correct and inoffensive.

God bless us, every one: In a weird way, your friends will always come through for you. All you need is a talking piece of s**t to show them the way.

Festive fun: One of those really fecked up moments that make South Park so brilliant.

Friends – The One with Phoebe’s Dad

Christmas craic:  Phoebe goes to track down her father who’s really a pharmacist and not a famous tree surgeon in Burma. Meanwhile, Ross suggests that Rachel should make a list about him to feel better during the warmest Christmas party that New York has ever seen.

God bless us, every one: A nice reminder that even if your ‘traditional’ family aren’t the most reliable, your friends are always there for you.

Festive fun: You have to love Joey and Chandler’s lazy approach to Christmas shopping.

Married with Children – It’s a Bundyful life

Christmas craic: A guardian angel decides to pay Al a visit and shows him what life would be like if he wasn’t born. Peg, Kelly and Bud are now the Jablonskys and a model family while The Rhoades are more like the Bundys.

God bless us, every one: It’s a nice reminder to be grateful for what you have…even if you’re Al Bundy!

Festive fun: This rhyme perfectly sums up Al’s life.

Only Fools and Horses – Time on our Hands

Christmas craic: Raquel is nervous when she prepares to introduce her parents to Del Boy. Meanwhile, Rodney appears to be struggling to come to terms with Cassandra’s miscarriage. In the midst of all this, the Trotters may have finally struck gold when they unexpectedly find themselves in possession of a valuable watch that has been lost for centuries.

God bless us every one: It really should have been the final episode of a famous show because it’s the perfect mix of pathos, sobs and laughs.

Festive fun: The ‘claustrophobic’ scene in the lift is brilliant but this is better.

Father Ted – A Christmassy Ted

Christmas craic: For shame if you don’t know the plot but here’s a recap. Ted manages to avert a major catastrophe when he, Dougal and a group of other priests get lost in Ireland’s biggest lingerie section. After managing to get them out of the store and avert another scandal in the catholic church, he’s awarded a Golden Cleric.

Things take an unexpected turn though when a priest named Father Todd Unctious shows up.

God bless us, every one:  What’s more Christmassy than Ruud Gullit sitting on a shed?

Festive fun: The entire episode is wonderful but if I had to choose just one moment to sum up its lunacy then.

The Simpsons – Roasting on an Open Fire

Christmas craic: Christmas seems doomed for the Simpson family when Homer receives no holiday bonus. Hoping to make extra money, he becomes a mall Santa Claus in an attempt to bring the family a happy holiday.

God bless us, every one: It’s the first aired episode of the greatest TV show of all-time, and it’s proof that material possessions and money mean very little during the Christmas season. Homer frequently gets things wrong but ultimately he loves his family more than anything.

Festive fun: A wonderful moment when Homer’s luck turns.
