Movies on TV

Mid-week. December? Just sit in and enjoy one of these instead!

In case you didn’t know, there are weather warnings in place for parts of the country today, so it would be better off to be indoors and watching one of these movies on the box instead.

THURSDAY 6 DECEMBER

Lethal Weapon 2 – Comedy Central Extra – 9.00pm

“Diplomatic immunity!” The sequel to the hit buddy cop action comedy has one of the most easily hateable bad guys ever to grace the silver screen.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street – SyFy – 10.00pm

Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter reunite on this violent musical about a hairdresser who kills people and his neighbour who turns the bodies into pies. Not for the faint-hearted, and also not for those who hate musicals. Alan Rickman, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Timothy Spall co-star.

The Usual Suspects – ITV4 – 10.00pm

Benicio Del Toro, Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne and company star in this twisty-turny crime thriller about a mastermind gang boss who… may not even exist. Or you can just look at it as a very grim fairytale, if you catch our gist…

The Devil’s Advocate – TCM – 10.55pm

Keanu Reeves is a hot shot lawyer, Charlize Theron is his loving wife, and Al Pacino is the devil big business man who hires him and moves him up the big city.

X-Men: First Class – Film Four – 10.55pm

Back when Xavier had hair and could walk (and was played by James McAvoy), and back when Magneto wasn’t in a world-dominating mood (and was played by Michael Fassbender). A very decent franchise reboot.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Conor Sketches | Tiger Woods loves Ger Loughnane and cosplaying as Charles LeClerc
