Sure what else would you be doing of a Wednesday evening…
Eight days into 2020. Yes, a lot has happened in those days eight days, but we guarantee you it has only been … (double checks calendar) … yes. Eight days. Definitely feels like more though, right?
Anyways, if your Hump Day needs a soft landing, here are the five best movies on the telly tonight:
WEDNESDAY 8 JANUARY
Role Models – Comedy Central – 9pm
Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott are best friends who are forced by the courts to do community service in the form of the Big Brother programme. Hilarious hijinks ensue.
Sex Tape – E! Entertainment – 9pm
Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel try to spice up their boring love lives by making a sex tape… which they then accidentally post online. It isn’t an amazing movie by any stretch of the imagination, but it does pass the time.
Carlito’s Way – ITV4 – 10pm
Al Pacino and Sean Penn star in this tense drama about a former criminal released from prison who wants to start his life anew, only to be dragged by down into a drug deal from which there is no escape.
Fright Night – Syfy – 10pm
Toni Collette and Colin Farrell star in this fun but not-in-the-least-bit-scary horror movie about a family in Las Vegas who discover their new neighbour might actually be a vampire.
The Wolf Of Wall Street – Film4 – 12.05am
Leo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie star in Martin Scorsese’s portrayal of Jordan Belfort, the man who made millions following the stock market crash.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
