Avoid the rain. Don’t avoid the couch.

Most of the country will be getting rained on this evening, so this really is a sit-in-and-watch-a-movie kind of night.

But what movie?

THERE ARE SO MANY!

Thankfully, your pals at JOE have picked out the best five that are on the telly tonight, and chances are you’ll enjoy at least one of them!

MONDAY 14 OCTOBER

Now You See Me – Film4 – 6.45pm

Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher are a group of reality-defying magicians who are using their abilities to rob from the mega-rich billionaire (Morgan Freeman) and giving to the poor, with detective Mark Ruffalo in hot pursuit.

Apollo 13 – ITV4 – 9pm

Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, and Bill Pullman Paxton play the astronauts on the real-life mission that went wrong in every way a mission to space can go wrong. Incredibly tense, even though most of us already know how it ends.

Watchmen – Sky One – 10pm

Before HBO brings us another look into this world, why not revisit the better-than-you’ve-heard, hyper-violent comic book movie involving a group of retired superheroes who are forced to regroup when a new threat arises and may potentially destroy the whole planet.

Gangster No.1 – Film4 – 10.50pm

Paul Bettany, Malcolm McDowell, and David Thewlis star in this incredibly violent gangster thriller, revolving around a murderer being released from prison after 30 years, and what that will mean for everyone he left behind when he went in.

Urban Legends: Bloody Mary – Horror Channel – 11pm

A pre-House Of Cards Kate Mara stars in this supernatural sequel about the legend of Bloody Mary – the one where if you say her name five times in a mirror, she’ll appear to you, and she probably won’t be super happy about it. If you’re looking for your “It is October, so I need my scary movie fix”, then this will do for tonight.
