Some very good options.

We’ve already had more than enough exciting TV news for the day, what with RTÉ announcing the date for this year’s Late Late Toy Show and all.

But even so, we might need something to be excited about in the shorter term. Thankfully, there are a few really good films on the box tonight for you to watch.

In a cruel twist of hate, however, four of them start at 9pm.

The World’s End – 9pm – ITV2

The final film in Edgar Wright’s Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, following Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. As always, Simon Pegg steals the show with a great comedic performance.

Fahrenheit 451 – 9pm – Sky Atlantic

Modern adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s dystopian novel, set in a future where the government has ordered all books to be destroyed. It’s a deeply grim 1984-style vision of the future that’s probably a lot closer to reality that we would like it to be. Maybe you should read a book instead. Stars Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon.

Goldeneye – 9pm – ITV4

Earlier this week it was revealed that the next James Bond film would be titled No Time To Die, which, let’s face it, leaves a lot to be desired. Goldeneye is the movie behind one of the best Nintendo 64 games ever, and stars Pierce Brosnan alongside Sean Bean.

Zombieland – 9pm – Comedy Central

A sequel to Zombieland is coming soon so you might want to watch this one to make sure you’re not forgetting anything. If you want a very brief recap: Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin do their best in a zombie apocalypse.

Word of Honour – 11.57pm – TG4

A Vietnam veteran is shocked to be accused of engineering a massacre while serving in South East Asia, 30 years after the end of the conflict – prompting him to set out to prove his innocence. Drama based on a novel by Nelson DeMille, and starring Don Johnson, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Sharon Lawrence.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
