Something to fill the time before and after Love Island…

Before we get into the weekend good and proper, it might be a good idea to take it easy tonight, and just enjoy a movie?

You could head to the cinema and check out the new releases there (we review them all right here), or you can sit in and enjoy one of these instead:

THURSDAY 18 JULY

Octopussy – ITV4 – 9pm

Roger Moore’s sixth time out as Bond finds him caught up in a plot involving fake Faberge eggs, a travelling circus, and plans to blow up bits of Germany. Also, the Bond Girl’s name is actually Octopussy, just in case that wasn’t already clear.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. – Comedy Central – 9pm

Armie Hammer and Henry Cavill are two spies fighting on either side of the Cold War who are forced to work together to take down a bigger threat, with assistance from a great supporting cast including Alicia Vikander, Jared Harris, Hugh Grant, and Elizabeth Debicki. A fun way to kill a few hours.

Executive Decision – TCM – 11pm

Kurt Russell is the nerdy tech guy who ends up being the only one who can stop a group of terrorists from blowing up a passenger jet full of hostages. A much-better-than-is-given-credit-for action thriller, co-starring Halle Berry and Steven Seagal.

The Purge: Election Year – FilmFour – 11.05pm

The third and arguably the best of the The Purge series to date, it sees Frank Grillo return, this time as the personal security for the Presidential candidate who wants to rid America of The Purge night, and other politicians will do whatever it takes to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Get Carter – ITV4 – 11.40pm

The original, gritty revenge thriller, starring Michael Caine as a cold-blooded gangster who goes on a rampage through London after his brother turns up dead.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
