Here are the 5 best movies on TV tonight

Rory Cashin

Not a bad selection tonight, truth be told.

Tuesday seems like as good a night as any to have a movie night, right?

You could head the cinema. Have you seen the new Tarantino movie yet? You should, it is very good.

But there are actually some decent flicks on the small screen tonight too, although nearly all of them kick off at the exact same time…

TUESDAY 20 AUGUST

Deadpool – FilmFour – 9pm

Ryan Reynolds is the smartmouth anti-hero who can see the camera that is filming the movie he’s in. A wacky, irreverant comic book movie that was a nice antidote to the Too Nice For Its Own Good MCU.

The Day After Tomorrow – Syfy – 9pm

Global warming is coming to kill us all and only Dennis Quaid can save us!

Licence To Kill – ITV4 – 9pm

Timothy Dalton’s final outing as 007 is one of the darkest in the Bond series, but it also has one of the best songs. Now sing it with us:

Got a license to kill (to kill)
And you know I’m going straight for your heart
(Got a license to kiiiill)
Got a license to kill (to kill)
Anyone who tries to tear us apart
(Got a license to kiiiiiill)
License to kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill, ooh

The Break Up – Comedy Central – 9pm

Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn are the once-happy couple who decide to break up, but instead of the usual break-up scenario, neither one of them is willing to give up their lovely shared apartment, and they’re forced to continue living with each other. An anti-romance comedy.

American Ultra – FilmFour – 11.10pm

Stoner Jesse Eisenberg has no idea that he had been secretly trained by the CIA to be a top-of-the-line assassin, but when the government decide to kill him off, they accidentally awaken his skills, much to his and his girlfriend’s (Kristen Stewart) surprise.
