Alas, most of our favourite gadgets only exist on the big screen…  we said most of them.

Read on…

James Bond’s Biometric pistol

In Skyfall, 007 has a pistol which won’t shoot unless he’s holding it. Pretty cool, eh?

Minority Report’s facial recognition advertising

Remember Tom Cruise’s character being targeted by custom advertisements after his face was scanned in Minority report?

Tesco have introduced face scanning technology in their UK petrol stations. This technology allows the retailer to scan customers’ faces, so Tesco can customise their advertising techniques.

Yes, this is equal parts cool and creepy.

Demolition Man’s virtual sex

Someone was always going to create this, weren’t they?

Oculus Rift is a virtual reality gaming experience and, of course, the adult industry have decided to create ‘an interactive porn experience.’

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol’s sticky gloves

Remember Tom Cruise hanging off the side of the gigantic Burj Khalifa in the fourth MI film? The gloves he wore to make such a feat possible are actually available.
