Here are the 6 best movies on the telly tonight

Rory Cashin

die hard 2

It is cold out. Too cold to do anything but sit in and watch one of these movies.

That is, of course, if you’re not heading to the cinema.

Widows is out and that movie is very, very good.

But maybe you’re already in your jammies and the thoughts of getting changed just fill you with exhaustion.

Yeah, better not risk the cold, stay in and watch one of these:

MONDAY 12 NOVEMBER

Changeling – Virgin Media Three – 8.00pm

Clint Eastwood directs Angelina Jolie in this sort-of-based-on-a-true-story about a woman in 1928 who comes home to find her son missing, only for the police to bring him back to her five months later. However, the new boy is not her son, but when she complains to the police, they tell her she is crazy. Her only friend (John Malkovich) then takes it upon himself to begin to investigate the police corruption that led to this series of events.

Die Hard 2 – Film Four – 9.00pm

The fourth best Die Hard movie. Don’t @ us.

Along Came A Spider – TG4 – 9.30pm

There was a time, back at the turn of the millenium, when it felt like a serial killer might never be found unless Morgan Freeman was looking for them. This is one of those times, when he plays psychological cat-and-mouse with a very dangerous predator. Monica Potter also stars in the movie, really hammering home that this was, indeed, around the year 2000.

Blade – ITV4 – 10.00pm

We went deep on this vampire flick when it turned 20 years old a few months back, but the movie still stands up really well two decades later.

The Heartbreak Kid – E! Entertainment – 10.30pm

Ben Stiller is a bit of a commitment-phobe, who meets the woman of his dreams (Malin Akerman) and after just a few weeks, they get married. However, on his honeymoon, he realises he may have made a huge mistake, especially after meeting the actual woman of his dreams (Michelle Monaghan) at the dream resort…

Starship Troopers – Syfy – 10.40pm

Another movie we took a good long look at when it turned 20 a little while back, but if anything, this movie is even more relevant today than it ever was. If you’ve never seen this sci-fi action epic, then you need to remedy that tonight.
