Here are the 6 best movies on TV this evening

One more day to the weekend. We can do this!

Although the weekend doesn’t look too great either, if you ask us.

Best to just stay in and watch more movies like these:

THURSDAY 12 DECEMBER

Only The Brave – FilmFour – 6.20pm

Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, Taylor Kitsch, Jennifer Connolly and loads more star in this true life tale about a group of elite firefighters who risk their lives to save a town from a historic wildfire.

Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas – ITV2 – 8.20pm

Tonight’s Christmas movie, if you’re looking for one, finds Jack Skellington deciding he wants to steal the festive season for himself. An animated classic, with that weird Burton vibe that we all love, and Danny Elfman and Catherine O’Hara on stellar vocal form.

Lethal Weapon 2 – ITV4 – 10pm

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are back as BFF cops, chasing down one of the most hated villains in cinema history. “DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY!”

The Heat – FilmFour – 10.50pm

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are the mis-matched cops who are made to work together to crack a big case. The plot doesn’t matter a huge amount, it is more about the genuinely decent chemistry between the two leads.

Ginger Snaps – Horror Channel – 11.50pm

Underseen horror gem, dealing with a teenage girl who finds that she is transformed into a werewolf every time she has a period and it is up to her sister try to save her.

National Lampoon’s Vacation – ITV4 – 12.20am

The big question is why wouldn’t they just go ahead and put on the Christmas one? Maybe they’re saving it for closer to the big day itself? Regardless, this one is still very funny, with Chevy Chase taking his family on a drive right across America, resulting in some seriously sticky situations.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
