House Greyjoy tease some very interesting events in Game of Thrones Season 8

Paul Moore

Yara Greyjoy

Euron and Yara hinted at some interesting details.

While every noble house in Game of Thrones has plenty of issues, it’s arguable that House Greyjoy is the most fecked up.

After Euron Greyjoy’s ship, the Silence, laid waste to Yara’s fleet of ships, Theon had the chance to finally stand up and face his uncle. However, he jumped overboard and abandoned his sister when she needed him the most.

However, Theon had his redemption as his raiding party killed Mac from Always Sunny (yep, he was one of the guards) and rescued his sister.

This being said, Euron was also successful on his trip to Essos as he retrieved The Golden Company to help boost Cersei’s military might. Shame about the elephants though.

After he killed the Sand Snakes and handed Ellaria Sand over to the Queen, Euron’s chances of marrying Cersei have greatly improved and he has now managed to get into Cersei’s bed.

Yep, things are looking good for the most arrogant man in Westeros.

JOE had the chance to chat with Pilou Asbæk (Euron) at the Season 8 premiere in Belfast and the Danish actor teased some very interesting developments for his character.

“I got some good moments in Season 8. I do two things that only a few people have done in Game of Thrones – which I’m very proud of. Things are looking good for me. I’m happy. I’m very happy,” said Asbæk.

Of course, Euron took control of the Iron Islands after he returned to Pyke and threw his brother Balon – Yara and Theon’s father – off a rope bridge.

Given the fact that Yara is a firm ally of Daenerys, she’s bound to have strength in numbers but after escaping her uncle, she is now trying to take back the Iron Islands from him.

After an action packed season opener, it appears that Yara’s arc won’t be done yet.

“That was quite exciting. She was in a bit of a fix, wasn’t she? Well, let me put it this way, has she ever let you down yet?”

What is dead may never die.
