There seems to be a bit of theme to most of tonight’s movies…

See if you can figure it out before we point it out to you right at the end.

THURSDAY 5 DECEMBER

A Beautiful Mind – Film4 – 6.20pm

Multi-Oscar-winning biopic about John Nash (played by Russell Crowe), a brilliant but asocial mathematician, who accepts secret government work in cryptography, but his life soon takes a turn for the nightmarish.

Superbad – Comedy Central – 9pm

Jonah Hill. Seth Rogen. Emma Stone. Michael Cera. Bill Hader. McLovin!

The Hitman’s Bodyguard – Film4 – 9pm

Samuel L. Jackson is the hitman, and Ryan Reynolds is the bodyguard who has been assigned to protect him. They do not get on, but are forced to work together when a number of assassins target them both. A decent action-comedy.

Vanishing On 7th Street – Horror Channel – 9pm

Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, and others find that they might be the last people left alive on Earth when everyone else suddenly disappears. But just because they are the last people, doesn’t mean they are alone…

Lethal Weapon – ITV4 – 10pm

The ultimate buddy cop comedy. Also, arguably, one of the best Christmas movies around.

RED – Film4 – 11.20pm

Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, and a few more folk are retired assassins, who all suddenly find themselves on a hit list, so they decide to show the young whippersnappers what’s what!

Wanted – ITV4 – 12.15am

What is this, Assassin Movie Night? Anyways, James McAvoy is recruited by Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie to join their group of bullet-bending killers, after he discovers that he might have a natural flair for this kind of thing.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
