No less than THREE David Fincher classics on the telly tonight!

You’ve got two movie options today.

One: go to the cinema. There is a lot of good stuff on the big screen this weekend, and we cover it all in the latest episode of The Big Reviewski, which you can listen to right here:

Two: sit in and watch stuff on the telly.

We’ve put together a list of the best eight movies on the box tonight (including, oddly, a handful by the same director), so you’ve got plenty to choose from.

SATURDAY 3 NOVEMBER

The Huntsman: Winter’s War – Channel 4 – 9.00pm

The sequel that is actually a prequel, telling the story of how The Huntsman from the Snow White came to be. Quite possibly the most attractive set of people in one movie – Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Sam Claflin – with everyone attempting to win the crown for Most Over-Acting.

Fight Club – Dave – 9.00pm

David Fincher Movie #1, the one that toxic fan-boys used as a lifestyle manual, instead of seeing it as the comedic dismantling of masculinity it actually was. Pitt, Norton, Bonham Carter and (Meat)Loaf are all fantastic in it.

Gone Girl – W – 9.00pm

David Fincher Movie #2, the one that had every single couple questioning whether they were actually dating a secret sociopath. Affleck, Pike, Ratajkowski, are all fantastic in it, with a surprise appearance by Neil Patrick Harris’ dong, so… be prepared for that.

The Walk – RTE One – 10.55pm

Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in this true life story of a guy who set up a tight-rope between the two buildings at World Trade Centre and proceeded to walk across it. Truth be told, you’re almost better off recording it, and then just fast-forwarding to the walk itself, because the rest of it isn’t great. But that walk scene is pretty amazing.

Senna – ITV4 – 11.00pm

Documentary on one of the greatest Formula One racing drivers of all time, and his life-long competition with a fellow driver, before his untimely death at the age of 34.

The Social Network – TCM – 11.15pm

David Fincher Movie #3, the one that we’re sure Mark Zuckerburg is still pretty unhappy about. Eisenberg, Garfield, and Timberlake are all fantastic in it, plus that score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross is still incredible.

Dracula Untold – RTE Two – 11.35pm

Directed by an Irish guy (more Irish directors need to do blockbusters, please!) this features Luke Evans, Dominic Cooper, and Sarah Gadon in a take on the Dracula story by some folk who have clearly seen a lot of Game Of Thrones and Lord Of The Rings.

300: Rise Of An Empire – RTE Two – 12.10am

One part prequel, one part sequel, Gerard Butler and his fantastic beard are gone, but Lena Headey takes centre stage, along with an almost-always-naked pairing of Sullivan Stapleton and Eva Green. Nowhere near as good as the original, but still some fun to be had.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
