Relax, Skynet isn’t taking over.
Much like the inevitable rise of the machines in the Terminator films, Financial Times journalist Sarah O’Connor couldn’t help the world from losing the way of itself after she tweeted about a news story that involved a robot killing a worker in a Volkswagen plant in Germany.
Unfortunately for her, she didn’t dwell on the fact that people would link the subject matter with the fact that her name is very similar to the heroine of the Terminator franchise, Sarah Connor.
Obviously people on Twitter were quick to draw similarities between this story and the sci-fi classic that James Cameron created.

Naturally this tweet got her ‘a few’ replies.
It seems that the journalist then figured out that people would make the association between her and Linda Hamilton’s iconic character.
@sarahoconnor_ Sigh. I've never even watched the films. Now my feed is full of people tweeting me about skynet.

Having made this shocking admission the journalist was then given some movie recommendations.
It seems that Sarah is so cool that she didn’t even want this new found fame.
@sarahoconnor_ Guys. I don't know what skynet is. And I wouldn't follow me – I tweet really boring stuff about unit wage costs and the like.

Some people still wanted to know about the leader of the resistance though.
It’s testament to Sarah O’Connor’s professionalism that she once again took the time to remind people of the serious news that instigated all of these funny replies.
Feeling really uncomfortable about this inadvertent Twitter thing I seem to have kicked off. Somebody died. Let's not forget.
