Dear God…
What do people enjoy most about First Dates Ireland?
The best part of #FirstDatesIRL is sitting down after it ends to scroll back through all the tweets. Vicious bunch of feckers, you are.
Thank God. 😂— Philip Nolan (@philipnolan1) January 23, 2018
Come on folks, it’s nice to be nice.
First Dates Ireland was on our screens on Tuesday night and it was a trip down memory lane for many viewers.
You may have recognised Phil Penny on last night’s show, he was a cast member on a, probably better forgotten show, Tallafornia, a few years ago.
No, he’s not this guy. That’s the Corminator alongside Nikita after the infamous eggs incident…
But back to First Dates, Phil was on a date with Amy Maria and despite his best attempts at charm, she certainly wasn’t falling head over heels for the former reality TV participant.

Not the ideal question to ask someone when you’ve just met them.
See how Phil, Amy Maria and the rest of the daters get on in the #FirstDatesIRL restaurant, tonight at 9.30pm on @RTE2. #FirstDatesIRL pic.twitter.com/tKuV9KgBmX

It wasn’t to be for the pair who seemed to have a serious clash of personalities.

Phil faced a serious backlash online following his behaviour on the date after saying some ill-advised things.

However, in fairness to Phil, he did go on 2FM alongside Amy Maria and apologise for his conduct on the date.
Speaking on the Nicky Byrne Show, Phil said: “People make mistakes and I made a mistake and I apologise sincerely.”
