The comedian was describing The Den to host Seth Meyers.
Irish actress and comedian Aisling Bea is one of the stars of the new Home Alone reboot Home Sweet Home Alone and appeared on US talk show Late Night With Seth Meyers to promote the project.
During the pair's conversation, talk turned to the topic of children's entertainment, leading Bea to try to teach American audiences all about Ireland's favourite puppet characters - Dustin the Turkey and Zig and Zag.
Prior to the interview, Bea sent Meyers a picture of the three puppets together, which the latter described as "disturbing".
In response, Bea said: "Let me tell you something. You are about to be cancelled in Ireland," before explaining the puppets' history.
"These were our children's entertainer presenters. They hosted a show called The Den," she said.
"These [Zig and Zag] are two aliens who came to Ireland from space... and then eventually they sort of adopted a puppet turkey from Dublin."
She even described the time Dustin the Turkey represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008.
"We sent Dustin the Turkey as our representative to sing on behalf of Ireland, just in case you're wondering like: 'How could you sum up a culture'.... He's a massive deal there".
You can watch the interview below, with The Den talk starting at around 7.20.
