“Arabian niiiiiiiiiiiiights, like Arabian days….”

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Aladdin.

Plot’s it all about?

Oh, come on! You know what Aladdin is about! A street rat (relative unknown Men Massoud) falls in love with Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott, who played the Pink Ranger in 2017’s Power Rangers), but is tricked by the evil Jafar (Marwan Kenzani, recent star of Murder On The Orient Express) to finding a magical lamp.

Through his own trickery, Aladdin keeps the lamp, releases an all-powerful genie (here played by Will Smith), wins over the Princess and her father, the Sultan (Navid Neghaban, bad guy in Homeland and Legion). But that nasty Jafar isn’t going to go down without a fight.

Disney have had some huge successes with turning their animated classics into live-action movies, with the likes of Beauty & The Beast, The Jungle Book, and Cinderella all doing amazingly well at the box office.

2019 sees them bringing no less than THREE classics back as live-action tales, as the Big Will’s Genie will be released along with Dumbo (March 2019) and The Lion King (July 2019).

The big difference here is that Aladdin is directed by Guy Ritchie, as in the guy behind Snatch (yay!) and King Arthur (boo!). We’ll see how it all turns out when it arrives in cinemas next summer.

Starring: Will Smith, Billy Magnussen, Naomi Scott, Mena Massoud, Marwan Kenzani, Navid Neghaban.

Directed by: Guy Ritchie

Release date: 24 May 2019

Enjoy!
