Always Sunny star shares disgusting/legendary bit of trivia from the show

Carl Kinsella

Always Sunny

We’ve all got that one trustworthy pair of runners.

You might not wear them on a night out, but they’re the old reliables for when you have to do work in the garden or anything else that might scuff your more prized footwear.

Given the kind of shit Charlie Kelly from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia does in a typical day (bashing rats, running around under bridges, looking for rings and coins in the sewers) — we’d expect that his trustiest pair of runners have been through a hell of a lot.

Actor Charlie Day confirmed just this on his Instagram yesterday, sharing a photo of some truly dilapidated Vans and writing: “I bought these kicks in 2004 and I’ve worn them in pretty much every Sunny episode since.”

Honestly, it shows real commitment to character, because we’re not sure if the real Charlie Kelly would even know where to buy a new pair of shoes, let alone realise he needs them.

Day’s Always Sunny co-star Glenn Howerton, who plays Dennis Reynolds, also chipped in with this contribution:

We’d have to say that we agree with Howerton on this one.

Always Sunny is currently filming its 13th season, which is expected to hit the airwaves in late 2018.
