Amazon Prime Video

Some great new additions to Amazon Prime Video if you’re in the mood for a big movie night in…

Not sure what to watch tonight? Well, you’ve got plenty of options!

You could check out this classic horror movie that turned 25 years old this week?

Or you could watched one of the 25 movies that Amazon Prime Video has just added to its library…

CAPTAIN PHILLIPS

Tom Hanks delivers one of his best ever performances in this true-life thriller. He plays the captain of a container ship that is taken over by Somali pirates.

GODS OF EGYPT

One of the biggest flops of all time, but yet still oddly watchable, if you ever wanted to see a nine-foot-tall Gerard Butler play an evil Egyptian God.

JACK THE GIANT SLAYER

Another massive flop, but so much less watchable. A gritty retelling of the famous Beanstalk-based fairy tale, because that was something the world really needed to see.

THE LAST WITCH HUNTER

Vin Diesel and Elijah Wood star in this dodgy action fantasy.

THE LITTLE THINGS

A trio of Oscar-winners – Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, Jared Leto – can’t help elevate this serial killer thriller above merely mediocre.

THE LUCKY ONE

Zac Efron tries to “do a Notebook” in this romantic drama about an Iraqi war veteran returning home in search of love and peace.

MAGIC MIKE / MAGIC MIKE XXL

Both very good movies, even if hunky dudes stripping off is or is not your thing.

MAN OF STEEL

Hans Zimmer’s score for this still absolutely SLAPS.

MEMENTO

The brilliant, told-in-reverse psychological thriller that put a certain Christopher Nolan on everyone’s radar.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE / MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE II / MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III / MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE GHOST PROTOCOL / MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION / MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT

Amazon Prime Video recently had all of the Bond movies, so it makes sense to move on to the OTHER big action spy franchise. All six of the M:I movies are here. Five of them are good-to-great. Even the worst one isn’t without its charms.

MURDER BY NUMBERS

Sandra Bullock is a detective in a murder case, convinced that two teenage geniuses (Ryan Gosling is one of them) are behind the crime.

THE NOTEBOOK

The exact moment the entire world fell in love with the aforementioned Ryan Gosling.

PAIN & GAIN

Michael Bay directs The Rock, Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Mackie in this tasteless crime thriller.

PAWN SACRIFICE

A very good, little-seen real-life thriller in which Tobey Maguire plays an American chess grandmaster, pitted against Russia’s best player, in what results in a political pissing contest between the two superpowers.

SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT

The cult classic Christmas horror about a killer toy-store Santa Claus.

TROPIC THUNDER

Ben Stiller stars in and directs this comedy about a Hollywood blockbuster film shoot gone awry. Funny in places.

TROY

If you think of Gladiator, but without the gravitas, but with loads of awesome fight scenes. Features a peak-sexy Brad Pitt and Eric Bana.

ZODIAC

One of the greatest movies about a serial killer ever made.

ZOOLANDER NO.2

Kristen Wiig’s new addition is funny.
