Angelina Jolie’s new movie with the makers of Sicario sounds incredible

Angelina Jolie

This could be amazing.

Angelina Jolie doesn’t act too much anymore.

Since 2010, she has only appeared on screen four times, not including the two Kung Fu Panda movies she provided voice work for.

By The Sea wasn’t great, a movie that she also directed and also starred in with now-ex Brad Pitt, but Malificent proved to be a huge success, making almost $800 million worldwide.

So when Jolie announces a new project, people sit up and take notice.

Especially when that project features the guy who wrote the brilliant Sicario and also wrote and directed the incredible Hell Or High Water.

Taylor Sheridan will be writing and directing Those Who Wish Me Dead, based on a 2014 book which told the story of a girl who goes into the witness protection programme, only to be chased by the same killers who sent her into hiding in the first place. Taking refuge in the wilderness, a massively spreading wildfire begins to build, and a woman at a nearby fire lookout tower attempts to help her escape the killers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the source material will be changed for the movie, so we’re guessing the vantage point will be changed from the girl to the fire lookout woman. Or they’ll up the age of the witness from teenager to, well, whatever age Jolie decides she wants to be in the movie.

Sheridan’s script is said to be “female-driven” and will become a relentless, “by-the-seat-of-your-pants chase movie”, and we 100% already know that Jolie will knock a role like that out of the park.

Before then, we will get to see her in Malificent 2, and Come Away, the prequel to both Peter Pan and Alice In Wonderland, which might mean we’re getting no less than THREE Angelina Jolie movies in 2020.

More Jolie than we know what to do with.
