#TRAILERCHEST: Here’s how Ant Man and The Wasp fits into the Infinity War timeline

Paul Moore

Ant Man

The next chapter in the MCU.

At the present moment, all eyes are on Avengers: Infinity War and if you haven’t seen that yet, Ant-Man and The Wasp is going to have a unique place next to the Russos latest blockbuster.

Again, look away now if you don’t want anything spoiled.

Thanos Avengers Infinity War

As previously reported, we’re certain that the Quantum Realm is going to play a big part in the upcoming Marvel films and in Peyton Reed’s sequel to his box-office hit, it looks likely that we’re going to take a trip back into that trippy world.

Given the fact that Ant-Man and Hawkeye were sidelined during the events of Infinity War, it comes as no surprise to see that Ant-Man and The Wasp looks set to take place immediately after Civil War but before Infinity War.

Basically, it’s a prequel to Thanos’ invasion of Earth.

Well, we’re assuming this given the fact that things seem ‘relatively’ normal in Scott Lang’s world and the fact that nearly all of the characters that we love are back. We’re still not over that ‘ash and dust’ finale yet!

Anyways, it’s great to see Michael Pena’s character Luis again and here’s what’s in store.

Plot’s it all about? The sequel will yet again see Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang suit up as the shrinking superhero Ant-Man, this time though he’s joined by Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp – remember when we saw her wear the costume during that very cool Easter Egg at the end of the first film?

Also returning is Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man and the inventor of the shrinking technology that gives both Ant-Man and the Wasp their powers.

While not much is known about the plot, it appears that we’re going to take another trip into “the quantum realm” which was teased back in the finale of the first film. After the events of Infinity War, we think that Ant-Man is going to have a huge role to play.

Starring: Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Directed by: Peyton Reed

Irish release date: 6 July

Enjoy!
