Really good news for people that watch Netflix while travelling.
Two years ago, Netflix launched their download feature and it was music to the ears of anyone that loves watching their favourite TV shows while travelling.
The online streaming giant have just announced that they’re rolling out a new feature called Smart Downloads. Basically, when you finish watching a downloaded episode, Smart Downloads will delete it, and then automatically download the next episode.
Cameron Johnson, Director of Product Innovation, said that the new feature should make things far more convenient and quick for Netflix users.
‘We know how annoying it can be to go through all your apps and delete files you no longer need; we also understand that when it comes to Netflix, the faster you can get to the next episode you want to watch, the better. Whether it is smart downloading or viewing a mobile preview, we realise the best part of Netflix is connecting with the stories you will love in an easier and more fun way,” he said.
Essentially, Netflix subscribers will now have increased control over their entertainment experience and the Smart Downloads feature is entirely optional to use. There are more details on how to use the Smart Downloads feature and you can read all about it here .
Basically, if you’ve downloaded one or more episodes in a series, Smart Downloads will delete the episode you’ve just finished and automatically download the next episode in the series.
Smart Downloads is initially available on Android phones and tablets.
