An unforgettable thriller movie is airing on TV tonight

While this starry thriller was not a box office hit, it has a strong cult following.

The story follows Michael Faraday (Jeff Bridges, Jagged Edge), a college professor whose FBI agent wife was killed during a botched operation targeting an extremist group.

As Michael struggles with his partner's death, a new and seemingly all-American couple (Joan Cusack and Tim Robbins) set up house next door to him. When the professor notices his new neighbours acting suspiciously, he begins to suspect something sinister is lurking underneath their perfect facade.

"With each twist, the mystery deepens, and questions loom as to whether Michael is consumed by fear and driven by paranoia, or whether a lethal conspiracy has been born on Arlington Road," the plot synopsis adds.

What if you started to suspect your seemingly friendly and ordinary neighbours were actually involved in terrorism? That is the premise of this gripping thriller, which wasn't a huge box office hit but has a lot of fans, as evidenced by its high 7.2 score on IMDb.

Brilliantly acted and stylishly directed by legendary music video helmer Mark Pellington (U2 3D), we don’t want to spoil anything about the movie for viewers. So all we’ll say is that its ending is unforgettable.

Arlington Road is airing on TV tonight on RTÉ One at 11.45pm. It's currently unavailable to rent or stream in Ireland, so now is the time to watch the film.
