Arnold Schwarzenegger delivers out death and dry wit in the explosive trailer for Sabotage

"Some of us are getting paid, the rest of us are getting dead." YES.

Eoghan Doherty

Arnold Schwarzenegger mixes things up by starring in a new action thriller as a giant, grizzled action hero, dishing out death and dry wit to a gang of bad guys intent on chopping down the Austrian Oak.

Way to break the mould there Arnie.

He may not be as great as he once was, and that’s why we spend so much of our time reminiscing about his previous perfect parts, but here at JOE we still can’t help but get a little bit excited whenever a new trailer for an Arnie film is released.

Very foolish of us, we know.

In saying that, as well as featuring a gun-toting Olivia Williams, Sabotage is directed by the talented David Ayer (director of End Of Watch, writer of Training Day), so we’ve our fingers crossed that this Arnie/Ayer action amalgamation will fare better than the Governator’s most recent ventures, Escape Plan and The Last Stand.

Schwarzenegger plays Breacher, the weirdly-eyebrowed commander of an elite team of DEA agents who, after pocketing millions of dollars worth of loot, think that they’re home and dry until a mysterious assassin starts taking them out, one by one.

And by “taking them out” we mean that the assassin is killing them, not treating them to a delicious dinner date and a night on the town.

Check out the clip below which features lots of explodey and shooty bits, Arnie with with a really, really strange hipster hairdo, and an inevitably miscast Terence Howard delivering the trailer’s best line: “some of us are getting paid, the rest of us are getting dead.”

Stop it Terence, that type of line belongs to Arnie and you know it. Give it back.

Sabotage is due to be released in Irish cinemas in April 2014.
