But what’s so important about the moon in The Simpsons?
“It’s backwards,” says Plait in a blog post over on Slate.com.
“The scene is clearly at dinner, early evening, so that’s the setting crescent new Moon. But in the Northern Hemisphere, the tips of a waxing crescent Moon point to the left, away from the Sun.”
So not only is Springfield NOT in the USA, it’s not even in the Northern Hemisphere.
Mind blown…
