The Afterparty, Severance, Black Bird and Slow Horses are all on our list of best shows of 2022 so far, and they could soon be joined by new murder-mystery Bad Sisters.

Created by Sharon Horgan, adapted from the 2012 Flemish show titled Clan, the show is set aiming to mix comedy and thriller, against the backdrop of a murder mystery in Ireland.

Horgan is producing the show alongside Dave Finkel and Brett Baer, two heavyweight Hollywood comedy producers who have previously delivered 30 Rock and New Girl.

The plot tells the story of the Garvey sisters, who have been bound tightly together following the premature death of the parents, and take it upon themselves to take action when they suspect that a man married to one of the sisters might not be the total gentleman he presents himself to be.

Horgan also stars as one of the sisters, alongside an impressive, mostly-Irish cast including Anne-Marie Duff (The Magdalene Sisters), Eva Birthistle (Brooklyn), Sarah Greene (Dublin Murders), Eve Hewson (Behind Her Eyes), Claes Bang (The Northman), Brian Gleeson (The Stag) and Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders).

The first two episodes of the show will be available from Friday, 19 August, with the rest of the episodes arriving weekly after that.
