Barack Obama reveals his favourite Game of Thrones character

From The White House to Westeros

From The White House to Westeros.

Aside form being a bloody great show (emphasis on the word bloody), I genuinely think that Game of Thrones should be prescribed to any students that are interested in studying politics.

Think about it.

Littlefinger can teach you all about the art of brinkmanship and playing two-sides against each other, Ned Stark’s arc is vital to those budding politicians who wish to keep a level head (wahey!) and Joffrey is living proof that power should never be given to the wrong people.

Barack Obama knows a thing or two about Game of Thrones, it’s his favourite TV show after all, and the US President has revealed who his most beloved character from the show is.

Speaking with GQ he said “My favorite character is probably…the dwarf, what’s his name?…The problem with Game of Thrones, though, is that I don’t remember the names of any of the characters.”

M President, his name is Tyrion Lannister.

We can see why Obama likes the youngest Lannister though because they’re both fine speakers, intelligent and politically astute. I wonder if Obama has ever delivered the line” I am the god of tits and wine” though.

Obama also added “I remember the characters, so when I watch it, I know exactly what’s going on,” Obama continued. “But if you read a review of the show afterwards and they’re mentioning such and such, the only one I remember is Jon Snow, because I can pronounce Jon Snow.”

The US President also had a small pop at Donald Trump when he was asked which Game of Thrones character Trump would be, Obama replied: “Uh…I don’t think…I don’t think any of them rise to that level.”
