What was the best weapon ever used in a movie?

Rory Cashin

predator guns

Lock. And. Load.

This really is one of those questions that everyone probably has a immediate answer to.

We asked around the office and we got answers ranging from Thor’s hammer, to Angelina Jolie’s double-guns in Tomb Raider, to the pulse rifles in Aliens, to the entire body of the T-1000 in Terminator 2.

A lot of it just comes down to the fact that your favourite movie weapon is most likely the one that you yourself would most like to get your hands on.

So with that in mind, that was The Big Question on this week’s episode of The Big Reviewski, and the answers were… eclectic.

Check out our answers below from 03:09:

Paul went with the double-ended lightsaber from Star Wars: Episode One – The Phantom Menace, which is obviously iconic. Just when you think the lightsaber can’t get any cooler, along comes Darth Maul and makes it 100% cooler. Obviously the rest of the movie wasn’t exactly the best thing ever, but you take the good with the bad.

Rory also went the science fiction route, although something slightly more grounded in reality, with the mech-suit from District 9. Not only does it kind of catch all the bullets being fired at it and then bop them back at the baddies who fired them in the first place, it also has a head-exploding charger gun which is straight out of the best video game that we never got to play.

And finally, we have Eoghan, who decided that out of decades of specially designed weapons from movies, he went with a pen. Admittedly, it was a well-utilised pen, by Matt Damon in his first proper scrap in The Bourne Identity.

Let us know on Twitter and on Facebook what you reckon was the best weapon ever used in a movie.
