Movies on TV

It’s… Wednesday.

At least we think it’s Wednesday, although in truth it does get rather difficult to distinguish one weekday from the other during these Covid times.

While you may be in the mood to check out some TV series tonight – we hear Disney+ have plenty to offer in that regard – there’s also some movies on TV which might be right up your street.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – E4 – 9pm

A middle of the road fantasy/adventure film about a young boy named Jake who discovers a house full of children with supernatural powers run by Miss Peregrine.

The Great Wall – Film4 – 9pm

Matt Damon fights mysterious creatures along the Great Wall of China.

Leap Year – RTÉ One – 9.35pm

Irish accents are often butchered by Hollywood and this is no exception.

It irritates me that I’ve seen this movie multiple times and will probably watch it again tonight.

2 Guns – Sky One – 10pm

“Wahlberg and Washington: great combo, well done. Think Rotten Tomatoes is just plain wrong. I watch a lot of this stuff–this is good,” Random Google review from a fella named Jim Gearhart.

But I would trust what he says because he watches a lot of this stuff, apparently.

Get Hard – Comedy Central – 10pm

Will Ferrell is softer than marshmallows in a pillow factory, so when he gets sent to jail, he hires someone to toughen him up.

Hulk – ITV4 – 10.30pm

The Eric Bana one. Or as it’s also known (by me), the bad one.

Warrior – Film4 – 11.05pm

The best movie on TV tonight. If you haven’t seen it and bedtime is not an issue, watch it.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
