Here are the best movies on TV this evening

Stephen Porzio

This is a stacked line-up of films.

As the sun sets on this beautiful day, why not relax on the sofa with a good movie.

There’s plenty of great choices on offer, including one film that’s brand new.

Check out your options below.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back – E4 – 9pm

An average sequel to a surprisingly good action flick, there is some joy in seeing Tom Cruise and Robin from How I Met Your Mother team up to kick some ass.

Highlander – Horror Channel – 9pm

An immortal Scottish swordsman must confront the last of his immortal opponent, a murderously brutal barbarian who lusts for the fabled “Prize”.

A cult classic featuring a fun supporting turn from Sean Connery, its tagline: “There can be only one” is still often referenced.

Four Weddings and a Funeral – Film4 – 9pm

An iconic entry in the romantic comedy genre that features Hugh Grant at his most charming and witty.

The Fugitive – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

Harrison Ford plays a man framed for the killing of his wife and is forced to go on the run to clear his name. Tommy Lee Jones is the US Marshal assigned to track him down.

What follows is one of the best action thrillers of the 90s and maybe ever.

PS I Love You – Comedy Central – 9pm

Based on the bestselling books by our own Cecelia Ahern, this romantic drama about loss and love performed well at the box office.

That said, Gerard Butler’s Irish accent is… not his best effort.

Tina – Sky One – 10pm

This brand new documentary on legendary singer Tina Turner is currently sitting on a 94% Rotten Tomatoes score and has been hailed as “brilliant” and “powerful”.

Cop Land – ITV 4 – 10.10pm

Sylvester Stallone stars as the sheriff of a suburban New Jersey community, populated by New York City police officers, who slowly discovers the town is a front for mob connections and corruption.

Directed by James Mangold (Logan, Walk the Line), the ace supporting cast in this gripping crime drama includes Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, and Harvey Keitel.
