Here are the best movies on TV this evening

It's Tuesday.

We're not quite at midweek yet, but we're ticking ever closer.

Tuesday is not renowned as a powerhouse when it comes to film offerings and the Irish channels take a rather contemptuous look towards Tuesday movies it seems, with no films on Irish TV tonight.

Yes, pickings are of the slim variety so it might be time to consider some of what Netflix has to offer you.

But if you're dead set on watching a movie the old fashioned way, here's the pick of what's on.

Before We Go - TG4 - 4.55pm

Chris Evans makes his directorial debut in this romantic drama.

Two strangers meet in Grand Central Station by chance and romance ensues between the pair.

Keeping Up with the Joneses - Film4 - 6.45pm

A favoured line for critics when this came out was: "This movie is not worth keeping up with."

But for its many flaws, it will provide a reasonably fun escape without taxing the brain too much.

Jon Hamm, Gal Gadot, Isla Fisher and Alan from the hangover Zach Galifianakis star.

Snatched - Film4 - 9pm

Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer are a mother and daughter who head off on an exotic vacation together, only to get caught up in a dangerous kidnapping plot.

In what is a theme on Film4 this evening, you can turn your brain off and probably get a few laughs.

The Shanghai job - Film4 - 10pm

A private security agent gets ambushed while trying to transport a valuable Chinese antique out of Shanghai.

He must get it back.

Think Taken, but if Liam Neeson's daughter had been an antique.

Space Cowboys - ITV4 - 10.30pm

There's only one man who can fix a failing satellite. The only problem is, he retired a good while earlier and will only return to help on the condition that he can bring his own crew with him.

Clint Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones, James Garner and Donald Sutherland play the retirees who return to help.
