There’s a storm brewing.

Last week, we had Ellen and now we’re facing off with Storm Francis.

The chances are you’re not venturing too far away from home this evening as the weather deteriorates, so let’s take a look at the best movies on TV for you.

Everest – Film4 – 6.40pm

A tale of tragedy and survival from the top of Mount Everest.

Quite a good cast.

Joy – RTÉ2 – 9.30pm

Jennifer Lawrence backbones drama/comedy about a mother of two who, despite numerous obstacles, creates a business empire.

It has some good moments and is brilliantly funny at times, but it’s not a movie that will live long in the memory.

Dumb And Dumber To – E4 – 9pm

The sequels rarely match the originals and this is no exception.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug – Film4 – 9pm

These movies didn’t exactly stick to the book which irked some purists, but it’s an enjoyable movie with plenty of battle scenes and Ian McKellen as Gandalf.

Enter the Dragon – ITV4 – 10pm

Bruce Lee’s final film before his death.

Didn’t win any Oscars but an entertaining watch.

Scary Movie 2 – Comedy Central – 9pm

It’s hard to believe that this was made on the back of the first one but even more astounding that three more movies followed this one.

If you like cringe humour, maybe it’s up your street.

Bad Neighbours 2 – Film4 – 12.10am

Like the first one, except if a sorority moved in next door instead of a fraternity.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
