It’s Saturday.

There is a feast of movies on TV today.

You don’t need to hear any more waffle here, let’s get down to business.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Film4 – 6.55pm

Some big names, but this one missed the mark… by a long way.

Beverly Hills Cop – Sky One – 9pm

Eddie Murphy plays Axel Foley, a wisecracking detective from Detroit. An investigation into his friend’s murder leads him to Los Angeles.

I believe it’s referred to as a great popcorn movie.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle – Channel 4 – 9pm

Julianne Moore is the baddie and blows shit up at the Kingsman headquarters. Eggsy hops stateside to get the help of their American counterpart, the Statemen.

Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer – E4 – 9pm

Just awful.

Coming to America – Comedy Central, 9pm

Did someone say… Sexual Chocolate?

If you’ve had a hard week, this iconic Eddie Murphy comedy is guaranteed to provide some light relief.

The Heat – Film4 – 9pm

A buddy cop movie flipped on its head and the result is more than decent.

Thor Ragnarok – RTÉ2 – 9.20pm

Definitely the best Thor movie and one of the most entertaining movies Marvel has made.

Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett,Mark Ruffalo, Tessa Thompson, Idris Elba, Karl Urban and Jeff Goldblum are all very good.

Overboard – RTÉ One – 9.30pm

The first one starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn was decent.

This one; far less so.

Memento – BBC Two – 9.45pm

Christopher Nolan and Guy Pearce lose their minds in what is a modern classic.

Hacksaw Ridge – UTV – 10pm

Oscar-nominated war drama starring Andrew Garfield as a World War II medic who refused to fire his gun.

Larry Crowne – TG4 – 10.25pm

This rom com can only coast so far on the charm and appeal of Tom Hanks.
