It’s Wednesday.

We’re here to talk to you about the various movies on TV this evening.

But first, let’s kick that brain into gear with a little trivia question for you.

Question: Before Mt. Everest was discovered, what was the highest mountain in the world?

Mull over that one for a few moments and the answer will be waiting for you at the bottom of the article.

Here’s the pick of the bunch on TV this evening.

American Hustle – More4 – 9pm

Gilded and glitzy retro con artist dramedy with Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and Jeremy Renner.

Armed Response – SyFy – 9pm

Wesley Snipes stars in this one as he leads a group of military operatives to check out a hi-tech prison that’s mysteriously gone offline.

Variety described the film as having “less story than your average first-person shooter video game”.

Mechanic Resurrection – Film4 – 9pm

Jason Statham assassinates three men and makes them look like accidents after his arch-rival kidnaps his girlfriend and threatens to kill her.

Got 32% on Rotten Tomatoes and 5/5 on Apple iTunes. You decide.

Sisters – RTÉ2 – 9.35pm

Comedy starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Two sisters reunite and throw a final party in their family home before their parents sell it.

It very much survives on the chemistry of its two main stars but it has its moments.

In Bruges – Film4 – 11pm

Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson star in a film we liked so much, we made a quiz about it here.

OK we know what you’re really here for, the answer to the question, right?

Before Mt. Everest was discovered, what was the highest mountain in the world?

The answer is: Mt. Everest. It just wasn’t discovered yet.
