Your escape route from the Ireland match.
The chances are you’ll be spending your evening watching Mick McCarthy’s men struggle to get a win against Switzerland in Geneva.
But on the off-chance that you’ve got the wherewithal to spare yourself that inevitable struggle, there are some good movies on TV tonight.
We’ve picked out a few of the best to help you make your choice.
Back To The Future Part III – 8.30pm – E4
The final chapter of the Back To The Future franchise that sees Marty McFly travel back to the wild, wild West to fight Biff’s ancestor. A feel good film.
10 Things I Hate About You – 9pm – Comedy Central
Of the many modern adaptations of Shakespeare, 10 Things I Hate About You is one of the best. Starring Heath Ledger as a hunky heart-throb, it’s a high-school comedy that will make you miss the ’90s.
Jaws – ITV4 – 10pm
LOOKS LIKE WE’RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER BOAT.
The Fifth Element – Channel 5 – 11.05pm
Among the most polarising sci-fi alien invasion movies ever. Some people think it’s one of the best films of all time, others think it’s one of the worst. Either way, it makes for a good-value watch.
Thirteen Ghosts – Horror Channel – 00.50am
Okay, so technically this movie is on tomorrow, but as it’s a horror movie, the wee small hours are probably the best time to watch it anyway. It’s a haunted house movie with a little bit more thought and effort put into its ghosts.
There are 13 specifics ones, and they are all scary.
LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
