Movies on TV

It’s Wednesday.

Gone are the days when you’d be guaranteed a midweek movie on RTÉ on a Wednesday night. In fact, there’s no movies on Irish channels at all later.

So we’ve had to look a little further afield for choices today and the pickings are of the slim variety.

Here are the best movies on TV today.

27 Dresses – Film4 – 6.50pm

Katherine Heigl is always the bridesmaid but never the bride, but will that change by the end of this movie?

I can’t remember the ending but I’m thinking… probably.

The Break-Up – Comedy Central – 9pm

A couple (Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn) break up but neither one of them wants to move out of their luxurious apartment. Petty squabbling ensues.

Honestly, I have anxiety just thinking about the situation.

The Guilty – Film4 – 9pm

The pick of the films on tonight sees a Danish police officer answering a call from a kidnapped woman.

When the call suddenly goes dead, the search for the woman and her kidnapper begins.

97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Mad Max 2 – ITV4 – 10pm

Max is back and if anything, he’s even madder than before.

In a post apocalyptic world, Mel Gibson finds himself the only hope of a small group of honest people running a remote oil refinery.
