It’s Wednesday.
Days come and go but we can always rely on some movies to pass the long – but noticeably getting shorter – evenings.
Gone are the days when we could expect a midweek movie on RTÉ; in fact, there’s no movies on Irish channels at all tonight.
A damn shame.
But… we shall endure and simply look further afield for our film choices this evening.
Here are the best movies on TV later.
Home Again – Film4 – 7.05pm
A 2017 rom-com starring Reese Witherspoon, Michael Sheen and Candice Bergen.
Decent.
Couple’s Retreat – Comedy Central – 9pm
A strong cast feature in this rom-com about a group of friends who go on a retreat to a paradise island to try and work on their relationships.
Inevitably, things get worse before they get better.
Pacific Rim: Uprising – Film4 – 9pm
John Boyega is in this and that alone makes it worth watching.
Predators – ITV4 – 10pm
Sci-fi sequel about a group of mercenaries who find themselves on an alien planet that acts as a game preserve where they are being hunted.
They must join forces to try and survive.
Another film with a good cast with Adrien Brody, Alice Braga and Walton Goggins.
Journeyman – Film 4 – 11.10pm
Paddy Considine writes, directs and stars in this drama about a boxer at the end of his career struggling to provide for his family.
Well worth your time if you’re staying up late.
